Breakers Collection Switch NSP Free Download Romslab Visco Corporation, responsible for shoot ’em up Andros Dunos (1992), was a Neo Geo stalwart, releasing 15 titles across SNK’s arcade and console hardware. One of its only forays into the fighting game arena was Breakers and its semi-sequel, Breakers Revenge. In 1996, the fighting game market was flooded. And, while it postdates Super Street Fighter II Turbo by two years, we always adored Breakers and felt it deserved wider recognition. Sadly, it never caught fire in arcades, struggling to be noticed, and never received an official home port outside of the Neo Geo CD. ROMSLAB.COM Best Switch Games

The absolute best way to bring a 26-year-old fighting game back is by opening it up to the global stage, and on this front Breakers Collection gets it impeccably right. Featuring both Crossplay and an online versus mode buoyed by all-important rollback netcode, the game’s arrival on Switch has been a long time coming. Where Breakers always excelled beyond the competition was in its fluidity, elasticity, and instinctive feel. It has air-grabs, super attacks, dash cancels, rolls and hop-backs, and plenty of juggle opportunities: features that would underpin 2D fighting games through the late ’90s and beyond.
The special actions are also similar to other fighting games from the same era, although the dashing and back-stepping techniques tend to differ between characters.
Not that I had any problem with that, as the game was incredibly entertaining to play for a variety of reasons. First off, I really like the character movesets. Even something like a basic button strike could do something surprising, like Alison III’s overhead kick that swings up from behind him. It’s a bit slow, but when you think an opponent is going to jump out of your corner pressure, you can bop them as they leap to put them right back down. There’s a lot of energy and creativity behind each button press beyond just doing a punch and a harder punch. TAITO MILESTONES Switch NSP

It makes pressing buttons feel like exploration, and while you have to think a bit harder to figure out how to use a character, it makes them feel pretty unique. The inputs to special moves are mostly the same quarter circle movements plus a button that you’ve seen in other fighting games, making them easy to guess your way through. Again, you see some really fun stuff here. Condor Heads has so many different, wild throws that will have him flipping you in the air for several seconds. Pielle will spin around the entire screen with his sword, roses flying out of him.
Breakers Collection is a simple action-fighting game, with a roster with many playable characters (10 in Breakers Revenge), that were all known by the fans from around the world.
Maherl will expand into a giant ball and try to crush you. The characters have a ton of personality in their moves in The Breakers Collection, which adds so much enjoyment to figuring them out. There’s also a playfulness factor at work here. I enjoy fighting games that get a bit silly, and these titles definitely have some goofy elements (like most of the moves listed above). Their over-the-top and unique nature adds a bit of laughter to the game, or these surprising moments when you’re getting to know it. Puffing up like a puffer fish and slamming down on your foe was an unexpected delight from trying out a quick button combination. Talisman: Digital Edition Switch

Not that all of its moves are silly, as there are many cool-looking attacks like Sho’s fiery kicks or Tia’s take on Psycho Crusher. The game just hits this great mixture of ridiculous and impressive that I really liked learning how to play each character and seeing how they worked. At its core, Breakers is a simple fighting game, even more so considering its era. However, it is very fun and with an incredibly responsive gameplay, with mechanics of combos, dashes and other systems that seem to have not aged – and that, if you come to think of it, in 1996 fighting games were still in their infancy in this sense.
Breakers Collection features both of the original games (Breakers and Breakers Revenge) and a brand new content for the cult-classic among the fans of Fighting Games
It’s even unfair to think that Breakers didn’t become popular at the time. Breakers Revenge , the other title in the collection, is basically a “1.5” version. You can clearly see that it’s almost the same game, but with some added characters, balances and things like that. The point is: it is valid to offer both games (mainly to preserve and serve as a “museum”, so to speak), but in practical terms, playing Breakers with Breakers Revenge is like wanting to play a Street Fighter V currently from launch instead of its original version. more updated version, with more mechanics and characters (i.e. it doesn’t make much sense).

If you haven’t heard of Breakers or its revamped, rebalanced pseudo-sequel Breakers Revenge, then it’ll harbour few surprises. These are textbook mid-90s fighters, filled with quarter-circle special moves and stereotypes. Pielle Montario, an Italian stallion armed with a fencing sword, attacks with cyclones of roses; Alsion III, meanwhile, is an undead Egyptian with poisonous breath. The pixel art and animation is robust if rarely awe-inspiring, but the sprites are chunky and the combat is surprisingly accessible – save for an almost impossible boss skirmish, as is so fist-clenchingly common for the genre.
