BRUTAL RAGE Switch NSP Free Download Romslab The tutorial teaches all the usual basic moves; kick, punch, jump, pick up weapons and how to use the ‘rage’ meter. Altogether there are 6 episodes to play through which are set in various locations. This includes a couple of motorbike racing scenes, involving dodging cars and picking up fuel which is a welcome break from the repetitive fighting scenes. The third part of the game is Brutal Club, where there are 3 progressively challenging rounds of fighting, each involving defeating several waves of enemies successively. There are some encouraging ideas here and the overall basic elements work well together, but if these were expanded upon further it would create a much more exciting and interactive playing experience. The motorbike scenes were a small glimpse of this but they were disappointingly short and felt very basic, with very little to actually collect or achieve. It’s obviously challenging to come up with an original game so finding the perfect equilibrium will never be as easy as it sometimes appears. The developers have evidently attempted to add a thought-provoking storyline which continues throughout, but the inability to speed up the captions or skip them completely detracts from the enjoyment of the game and slows it down so much that it becomes a test of endurance between each scene, desperately willing it to move on. Understandably, players will be looking for games which are not too short, but the time it takes for the captions to move on steals much of that time in this game.
A common critique is the lack of depth in combat and repetitive nature. Several boss fights are described as overly cheap and frustrating
The entire story has to be completed in order to unlock the ability to skip the captions, but by this point it is unclear how many people would actually choose to play it again. Unfortunately, the repetition of fighting, dialogue, walk to next scene, fighting, dialogue, walk to next scene became so mind-numbing, it started to feel like it might never end! A new character is unlocked once the story mode is complete but the incentive to complete the game all over again to witness a ‘new fighting style’ of one character doesn’t exactly appeal very strongly. If the new character could turn invisible and shoot rainbow lasers from their teeth, that might perhaps sooth the madness triggered by enduring the caption nightmares of Brutal Rage the first time round. When jumping into the game, you can select between three difficulty settings: Easy, Normal and Hard and also choose between three characters; two available from the getgo with a third unlockable one. You can switch character in between levels; considering they have the same moveset and going through the same story, it doesn’t change anything. As you fight your way through waves of bad guys, there’s a Rage Meter under your health bar which fills up progressively. Once filled, players can activate the Rage where the character gets a temporary boost in strength and speed punching and kicking enemies off the screen. It’s a neat mechanic but it barely lasts like 3 seconds, so you gotta be quick to clear the screen. As with any beat’em up, the game features a few boss fights.
Some players reported minor bugs like characters getting stuck, and others felt the soundtrack was unremarkable or repetitive
The worst bosses ever conceived. While the first one is actually quite a pushover, the other three are cheap, frustrating and overpowered; the worst of the bunch being the final boss. I’m not going into details, but we’re talking Street Fighter IV’s Seth level of cheapness and frustration. To break the repetitive nature of beating people up, there are a few motorcycle sequences where you ride down the road en route to your next destination. It’s actually pretty fun, albeit a bit rough around the edges as you have not only keep your eyes out for gas canisters so the motorcycle doesn’t run out of gas, but also check the indicator of incoming traffic in a darker, harder to see the setting. While the canisters are easy to spot, the indicator not so much. Arcade Archives: Warrior Blade Switch NSP

The very low budget available for this game is initially well disguised by the title’s premise. It looks “cheap” and “outdated” because that’s exactly how it’s meant to be. However, upon closer inspection, some shortcomings become apparent that might be somewhat irritating and can’t simply be dismissed with “it’s supposed to look like an arcade machine.” For example, some things in the game are often difficult to discern, and some of the already limited sound effects become quite annoying over time. Despite all this, the arcade feel still comes across well, and accompanied by some very amusing dialogue from the characters, you can easily overlook the minor inconsistencies and enjoy the game. As with many other games, the fact that the whole thing can be played on the couch with.
New character unlocked upon completing story mode
Whether in training mode, the Brutal Club, or the story mode, playing with a partner in front of the console is always the most entertaining. The game also deserves credit for never getting boring. Unlike some other similar titles, there’s never a dull moment or a sluggish fight. The pace is consistently fast, and you’ll never tire of punching, kicking, or throwing your opponents through the air from beginning to end. Well, yes it does, and it will appeal to the hardcore beat ’em up fans, but on the flipside it’s not going to set the world alright nor drag in anyone previously uninterested. Brutal Rage tells the story of two cops gone bad, or at least if they haven’t gone bad they’ve been stitched up big time. Across the course of six fairly swift chapters.

You will help these guys – Mac and Kurt (with an unlockable Tommy coming in later down the line) – head off on a path of retribution, hunting down bad guys, working through swathes of thugs and ultimately beating the hell out of those who turned their lives upside-down. The story told throughout Brutal Rage is a fairly fun one, full of cursing, frequented by coarse language, and running with an undertone that is fitting of the scene we find ourselves in. It’s extremely basic though and won’t be nominated for any narrative awards, but as a piece to hold together a number of gameplay segments, it works. But hey, Brutal Rage would be just fine without any form of story lining the background, for this is nothing but a standard side-scrolling beat ’em up.
