In this game, a duo with brightly coloured hair fight back against a rival tribe of Neanderthals, who’ve kidnapped all of their women, while also facing off against a horde of dinosaurs and other prehistoric nasties like woolly mammoths. Story

As far as the story goes, this one is rather simple. The game opens with several cavemen carrying away multiple cavewomen from a hut. Apparently, Joe and Mac take it upon themselves to rescue them. Player one plays as Joe with green hair, and player two plays as Mac with blue hair. They battle their way through a variety of prehistoric levels. Breaking open dinosaur eggs reveals a power up inside, such as wheels, fire, spikes, and boomerangs. Players can hold down the attack button to throw a much larger and more powerful projectile. If the button is held down too long, it will result in the player becoming winded and leave him open for easy attack.

GamePlay

The gameplay of Caveman Ninja is fairly simplistic, yet offers a various amount of ways to experience it. The game is primarily an action-packed side-scrolling adventure game, with cooperative elements. During the game, you’ll mostly be throwing your hammers at enemies such as a Tyrannosaurus Rex and Pterodactyls while dodging their attacks and traversing through the dangerous environments. The main levels are fairly short, a couple minutes to travel through the bulk of it, however, the boss fights are where most of the fun lies. These boss fights can offer quite a challenge, especially since the first level throws one right at your face.Caveman Ninja on Switch offers a great co-op multiplayer experience. There is a simple drop in/drop-out mechanic which works well for the style of game. The second player can do exactly what the first player can, and it allows the game to be played through much easier, as enemies are taken out a lot faster and any deaths can easily just be brushed off – as long as someone else is still alive, you can respawn freely. It makes the game lose a lot of the difficulty I found made the single-player unique, but it’s definitely better if you find yourself stuck or you find it difficult to progress.

Which we throw to take down other cavemen (it is not a beat’em up like Bad Dudes), flying saurians … By breaking the dinosaur eggs that some enemies carry we can take other weapons, from fireballs to lightning bolts or stone arrows, which also feature a “charged” shot (holding down the fire button) that allows us to launch a larger and more damaging version of the weapon.
