Hunter Scope by Baltoro Games is one such game. Having owned another Baltoro game in the past (Urban Flow), I was able to pick up S.N.I.P.E.R. Hunter Scope when it was released, for free. S.N.I.P.E.R. Hunter Scope is an action game that will feel like you’re playing two games at once. The first part of the game is a sniper shooter where you sit back on a rooftop and pick off enemies as they appear. This isn’t a stealthy shooter though as enemies know where you are and will fire at you if you take too long to take them out. You have to be quick in this section as you only have a limited amount of health to complete the level. You can pick up powerups such as grenades, night vision, and extra health.

This game will rekindle the flame of the shooter of the time, since it is a rail shooter. Unfortunately, the game does not have a story mode, nor a multiplayer mode either locally or online. Still, the game offers us sixteen different levels, plus two additional levels available via a DLC, but we will not talk about the DLC in this test. For each level we have to survive three minutes to win it. To do this, we need to quickly eliminate the enemies before they start shooting at us. If our life drops to zero, it’s Game Over. By eliminating the enemies, we obviously gain points, but we can also gain bonuses, such as stun grenades or life to name only these bonuses. I’ll start with the obvious – the controls. S.N.I.P.E.R. Hunter Scope offers players multiple ways to control the game, but all of them feel off in one way or another. Players are encouraged to use gyroscopic motion controls, with multiple ways to do so, but players using Joy-Cons will find this motion delegated to one Joy-Con or the other, with the remaining Joy-Con assigned important commands like ducking and reloading.
