This is a character that applies a damage-over-time effect every time he attacks? Got it. This character has secondary abilities that trigger with certain cards? Very clear. The game’s map and its branching paths are immediately recognisable, its shop has a certain je ne sais quoi, and its upgrade system is nothing if not a direct copy of the one in the game that popularised the genre. This is again not to say that Deathless is a bad game for being very similar to Slay the Spire.
