Mr. Sun’s Hatbox Switch NSP Free Download Romslab I first got the chance to play Mr. Sun’s Hatbox at PAX West. As a fan of the indie side of things, including publisher Raw Fury, I was eager to see what the then-mystery game was all about. And though I had some issues with the keyboard and mouse setup for the PC build I demoed, I could see the game had potential. Fast forward a few months later, and now I finally got a chance to sit down with the Switch version of Mr. Sun’s Hatbox. While there are definitely aspects of the final game I found charming, ultimately, it wasn’t a great example of the genre. ROMSLAB.COM Best Switch Games

The game is infused with a ton of deranged humor, right from the very opening moments. Mr. Sun’s delivery gets stolen by some masked goons. Instead of throwing hands in the air, the deliveryman hunts after the criminals like an enraged Liam Neeson in the Taken series. After all, Mr. Sun was guaranteed his delivery, so you’ll make sure he gets it – by any means necessary! The action sections of the game are a mixture of platforming and, would you believe, stealth. Controls are pretty easy to pick up with the game providing little reminders at the bottom of the screen.
Discover over 50 different hats, each with unique properties. From the practical to the powerful.
You’re able to take on the game alone or have a friend jump in local co-op. The closest comparison I can think of for this is Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker. A title released all the way back on the underrated original PSP. Levels are littered with enemies who become alerted to you through their line of sight or sound. Levels may also feature security cameras, microphones, and even deadly traps, so keep your eyes peeled for the level layout. Getting caught is not the end of the world, but it does make things feel pretty stressful and chaotic as all other enemies will be alerted to your location. Angelique Luminarise Switch NSP

You can either run and hide till the enemy loses interest or choose to engage in combat with some encounters solved simply by jumping on an enemy’s head to stun them. If you prefer, you can snap their neck to neutralize them. An action which comes with a cringing breaking noise. Before the parents get a little concerned, I’ll point out that this game doesn’t really feature any gore. Yes, you are able to wield weapons like guns and axes, but the worst you’ll see is enemies breaking into pixelated chunks, with no semblance of blood. After all, this is a game where you play as what I would best describe as a face with legs.
Start small and gradually build a unit fit for taking down the mischievous Mr Moon and his troublemakers.
I was fairly sure that retrieving the Hatbox and saving the day would involve some platforming action and Roguelike randomness, but that’s not quite what you’ll find here. Mr Sun’s Hatbox is actually a 2d stealth game, complete with alarms, gun turret cameras, and even neck snapping. You’ll have to navigate the hallways of each mission carefully if you want to keep your employees alive, because if they die they’re gone forever basic character with no weapons or hats only has one way to deal with enemies in Mr Sun’s Hatbox; bouncing on their head and then snapping their neck while they’re unconscious. There are plenty of other ways to deal with those pesky guards though, from simple pistols to packs of half a dozen eggs. The variety of items in this game is truly staggering and lends itself to some creative gameplay. Maybe you want to bring a gun that fires through walls, or a toy bow that knocks out foes with boxing glove-tipped arrows so you don’t break their gear and can use it yourself. Hats are just as important as guns in Mr Sun’s Hatbox and can be defensive or offensive. Some simple options include hard hats so you can’t get stomped and stunned and propeller hats so you can fly a little, but some of the options are way zanier.
You’ll make use of a closetful of stylish headgear and an assortment of weapons to track down and return the stolen package to its rightful owner.
The boxing glove hat will punch enemies far across the map, the whoopie cushion unleashes toxic stun gas, and the frog gobbles up enemies that get too close and spits them out stunned. There are hundreds of creative combinations of hats and weapons to use, and finding something new to try is always exciting. Mr. Sun’s Hatbox has one of the funniest premises for a game that I’ve seen in a long time. You play as a member of a package delivery company and at the beginning of the story, one of Mr. Sun’s packages gets stolen by the dastardly Mr. Moon.

However, he doesn’t really seem all that bothered by it but you try your darnedest to reclaim it for him over the coming weeks. As you stage all sorts of heists and assassination missions while occasionally offering Mr. Sun invaluable treasures to make up for the missed delivery. Meanwhile, he doesn’t seem to care all that much about these treasures nor all of the effort that you’ve been putting in which is downright hilarious. Quite unlike Metal Gear, you don’t play as a single character. Instead, you individually control whichever randomly-generated blob-person(s) you’ve selected for a mission.
