The gameplay sees you controlling your adventurer who shoots out a set of balls. Enemies scroll from the top of the screen to the bottom in rows. This battle of endurance culminates in three boss battles that attack with different patterns. Along the way you grab the experience that the enemies drop in order to unlock new balls or upgrade their potential. Occasionally a rare fusion element is dropped, allowing you to either fuse or evolve a set of balls together. For example, evolving the Burn Ball with the Freeze Ball creates Freezing Flame which enhances damage and stuns enemies for a longer period of time. But you could also combine the Freeze Ball with the Earthquake Ball for the Freeze x Earthquake Ball that stuns enemies and hits their surroundings as well.
Discover overpowered combinations and unexpected synergies from hundreds of possible outcomes.
On top of that, once you have these unique combinations you may even be able to evolve them with other balls to enhance their deadly potential. This gameplay loop of Breakout, Space Invaders and Vampire Survivors gives BALL X PIT near endless potential. The story of BALL x PIT revolves around the fictional city of Ballbylon, or rather, what’s left of it. After a meteoric and completely unexpected event destroyed the great city, all that remained was a menacing, gaping, and seemingly infinitely deep pit. The destruction left behind not only ruins, but also uncovered treasures that attract treasure hunters from near and far. Unalive 010 Switch NSP

Teeming with armies of barbaric creatures hell-bent on ending the adventure before it even begins. To harass the monsters, the various characters rely on a wide arsenal of magical balls that can be combined and enhanced. But combat is only one aspect of the story, for with the treasures collected from the depths, it’s up to the player to build New Ballbylon. That’s because while it’s ostensibly a Breakout-inspired game, along the way it picks up a skill tree and roguelike elements that shift it variously from Breakout to Pinball with elements of Pachinko and a fair smattering of bullet hell shooters thrown into the mix.
Each region presents its own unique hazards, as well as hordes of increasingly challenging enemies and powerful, screen-filling bosses.
There’s a bare semblance of plot; the fall of the city of Ballbylon (ho ho ho) has left a massive pit full of monsters, and it falls to you, the hero – and eventually a whole cadre of selectable characters – to clear them out level by level while also building a resource generating city from the spoils you plunder on each run. Where Breakout and (mostly) Arkanoid managed ball motion based on the angle you hit a ball at, Ball X Pit gives you direct aiming control, and you’ll need it. Each character starts with their own powered up ball type with specific characteristics, but you’ll quickly spawn a whole host of baby balls. Unbound Worlds Apart Switch NSP

As well as levelling up within each run to get new ball types to bounce back up at your foes has literally fallen through the earth, leaving a gaping hole in her crust. You shall take an intrepid crew of ball-spitting adventurers to search for riches and uncover the truth. After beating it, I’m still not 100% sure what is going on in this wacky game, other than the moon wants me to kick its ass until it opens its bussy and lets me in is a rogue-lite game focused on building up a small town in between runs, which serves as your meta-leveling device. Things start simply, with a knight who spits out an iron ball that deals heavy damage but moves slowly.
As you explore the pit, you’ll encounter other treasure hunters eager to contribute their skills to your expedition.
Fairly quickly, unless you’re our own Nick Baker and can’t seem to win a round, you’ll unlock dozens of other ball-spitting adventure seekers. Each of them, unlike the default character, has a unique starting ball and passive talent. Eventually, you will bring two at a time into a run. Characters like a learned man who looks like hideous Sokrates & makes his own decisions, choosing upgrades automatically through a run, for example. A crazed Scientist breaks gravity and has his balls all fly up to the top of the screen instead of bouncing around.

The simplicity of the pitch is one reason I’m so excited to tell you about Ball X Pit. Even as the game progresses and becomes mechanically more complex (more on that later), it never ever deviates from the mission statement that it is simply about using balls to break bricks. Use the left stick to move your character and the right stick to aim your bounce line. These advancements twisted and turned through the roguelike formula create what I can only call the most robust arcade game I have ever had the pleasure of playing. Mixing and matching these abilities, choosing upgrades, and evolving your balls into Satan himself are key to progression. Uncle Chop’s Rocket Shop Switch NSP
