Technical Specifications

What the NSP Package Includes

The Hollow Knight Silksong NSP is the base game packaged for the Nintendo Switch, and the current release ships alongside an update file labeled v1.0.28324. The base game installs at roughly 5.2 GB compressed, expanding to about 7.8 GB once installed, so plan your microSD space accordingly. The package supports multiple languages, including English, Spanish, French, and German, and the base game requires firmware 16.0.0 or newer on the console side.

If you are building a Switch library, this release sits comfortably next to other action-heavy titles in the same format, such as Batman Arkham Knight Switch NSP, which also rewards players who like a darker, exploration-driven structure.

Key Features

• Acrobatic combat built around Hornet: chain aerial attacks, dashes, and parries into a fast, fluid fighting style that plays very differently from the Knight in the original game.
• Silk mechanic: gather Silk from the world and spend it on powerful abilities such as the Silkbind Sprint and the area-clearing Threadstorm.
• Crafting system: collect resources to build Tools, Traps, and Medallions that grant passive buffs, letting you tune your loadout to your own playstyle.
• Quest system: citizens of Pharloom hand out quests that give you purpose and rewards beyond the critical path, fleshing out the world.
• Vertically designed world: Pharloom is built to be climbed, with secrets, upgrades, and demanding boss fights tucked into side routes.
• Multi-language support: English, Spanish, French, German, and more, so you can play in the language you prefer.

Gameplay and World Design

Silksong began life as DLC for the original Hollow Knight before growing into a full sequel, and that history shows in the scope. Hornet is quicker and more agile than the Knight, and her combat is a dance of precision rather than brute force. The Needle is her core weapon, but the real depth comes from how you manage Silk: do you spend it on mobility, on a devastating special, or save it for a heal in a tight spot?

Pharloom itself is designed vertically. You are always climbing, and the map rewards curiosity. Optional routes hide upgrades, lore, and some of the tougher encounters, while the main path keeps a steady pace. The crafting and quest systems are new additions to the formula, and they give you reasons to revisit areas and talk to NPCs rather than simply pushing forward.

Performance and Platform Notes

The Switch version targets a steady 60 FPS in both docked and handheld modes, with dynamic resolution scaling that keeps the hand-drawn art sharp. Load times between areas typically run under three to five seconds, which keeps the pace intact. The NSP file is reported to run on custom firmware and on emulators such as Yuzu and Ryujinx. Keep in mind that emulator performance depends heavily on your own PC hardware, and some titles simply run better on one emulator than the other, so try Ryujinx if Yuzu gives you trouble.

Pros and Cons

• Pros: a full sequel with more depth than the original; fast, expressive combat; a large vertically designed world; crafting and quest systems that add replay value; multi-language support; clean NSP packaging with a separate update file.
• Cons: the installed size of roughly 7.8 GB is significant for smaller microSD cards; firmware 16.0.0+ is required; emulator play depends on your own hardware and setup; the base game and update are separate downloads, so you need to install both for the latest version.

Version Freshness and Publisher Details

This release pairs the base game with update v1.0.28324, so you are getting the current package rather than an older base-only dump. The publisher listed for this download is Romslab, the same source behind the original article and the linked library of Switch titles. Because the update is distributed as a separate NSP, always install both files in order (base game first, then update) to avoid version mismatches.

On the trust side, the practical guidance matters more than slogans: verify your console firmware is 16.0.0 or newer, confirm you have enough free space for the installed size, and use an up-to-date installer such as TinWoo or Awoo Installer. If an installation fails, outdated firmware or an outdated installer is the usual culprit.

How to Download and Install the NSP

1. Download: grab the base game file and the latest update file from the links on this page. Both are needed for the current version.
2. Transfer: copy the NSP files to the microSD card of your modded Nintendo Switch.
3. Install: open a homebrew installer such as TinWoo or Awoo Installer, browse to the NSP on your SD card, and install it to internal memory or the SD card. Install the base game before the update.
4. Play: the game icon appears on your home screen once installation finishes. Launch it and start climbing.

If you prefer a different genre while you wait for your download to finish, Aerial Knights Never Yield Switch is another Switch release worth a look, and Bahnsen Knights Switch NSP offers a very different, story-driven knight-themed experience.

Final Take

Silksong is a strong contender for one of the best Metroidvania games on the Switch, and the NSP format gives you a clean way to carry that adventure with you. The current package includes the base game plus update v1.0.28324, runs in multiple languages, and installs through the standard homebrew tools. If you have the storage and the firmware, this is a straightforward pickup for anyone who enjoyed the original or wants a fast, precise action-platformer with a world worth exploring.
