No Place Like Home Switch NSP Free Download Romslab Farming sims are hugely popular, with a pretty extensive list of titles like Stardew Valley, Story of Seasons, Harvest Moon, and My Time at Portia. They’re a way to escape the frantic nature of city life and be at one with nature, grow crops, work the fields, and build a community you can be proud of. When done right, the peaceful and productive gameplay loop can become a hugely pleasing experience. No Place Like Home still feels like it has a way to go to live with the big boys, but there’s enough there to keep you busy whiling away the hours under the sun. ROMSLAB.COM Best Switch Games

You play as a girl called Ellen who has gone to save her grandfather’s farm. Upon your arrival, there are piles of rubbish as far as the eye can see. Every inch of the farm is covered in these filthy mounds, but luckily, you’re more than equipped to deal with them. What makes No Place Like Home stand out is the setting. Yes, it’s a quaint little farm, but the world has gone to hell and everyone has left for Mars. Although it’s post-apocalyptic on a technicality, it’s colourful with a warm heart. There’s humour in everything you do, from chatting with NPCs to dressing up your animals with a plethora of cute hats. Ever wanted to see a chicken in a top hat? Well, now you can.
Rebuild, refurbish and decorate your house into a cosy place of perfection.
You do this all with a combo vacuum pack/water canon/laser drill. Sometimes you’ll be accosted by angry vacuum cleaners and you’ll have to point your drill in their direction until they explode. The sense of danger and challenge always remained pretty low. But sometimes that’s all we want in a game like this, right? There’s space for a relaxing, guided trip through a game’s world. People don’t flock to Stardew Valley because of it’s fiendish difficulty; they are looking for an escape. And after a while in No Place Like Home, that’s what it became, an escape. Maybe I was charmed by the talking chickens. Or maybe I was properly tantalized by the promise of a bigger farm. Whatever it was, I found the rhythm in No Place Like Home. The challenges never grow all that challenging, but the progress is very well paced. I had to remind myself to save and quit at times, so tantalizing was the promise of upgraded tools. Maybe a compulsion doesn’t sound like the strongest endorsement but after finding that groove, No Place Like Home played very pleasantly. On the one hand, the graphics in No Place Like Home aren’t much to look at.
Find, rescue and befriend farm animals that have gotten lost throughout the valley.
The game goes with a cartoon style, which is a wise choice. It’s easy to fall short of realism, but these stylized characters don’t look incomplete. And actually, there’s a lot of detail in some of the character models, and it’s obvious what everything is supposed to be. (Lots of things are chickens, or chicken related). If anything, the game could have done to lean into a more cartoony style, more simplicity. The music and sound effects are also quite peace inducing (well maybe less so the rubbish collector… though I guess if you like the “white noise” of vacuums you may find it relaxing), which further help cement this as a great game to relax with… which I did. The main storyline will send you to the different “zones” around your village and will require you help the locals you find along your way. Finding a new local typically unlocks some new items you can build, most of these items will only become available once you have completed tasks for the residents, such as cleaning up a certain area or looking after the local wildlife. Your “currency” is essentially whatever you can recycle and then also produce from the animals and crops you will be able to start raising. Within the areas you’re tasked with restoring, there are other things to do besides hoovering.
Explore and go on adventures through many diversified zones.
The land is sparsely populated by characters who remained on Earth rather than going to Mars, and they all want your help. The quests they offer, which include replacing water filters, fixing up homesteads and repairing fox dens, are straightforward. But completing them actively improves the world you’re walking around in. One early NPC tasks you with destroying the radiation-warped trees dotted around the map and planting acorns in their stead. This kind of quest doesn’t provide the same instant gratification that hoovering up trash does but the result – verdant oak trees where once there were none – scratches that itch of accomplishment that all good farming games hope to get right.

The post-apocalyptic genre has been wrung for all it’s worth. But developer Chicken Launcher has applied a healthy dose of absurdist comedy – a Napoleonic pig, well-dressed chickens, and a cast of colourful animal characters – to No Place Like Home in an effort to lighten the mood, and the palette. Rather than, say, the dingy aesthetic of the Fallout games, No Place Like Home features blue skies and lush green fields, even if they’re buried beneath tons of detritus. But rest assured: there isn’t a spot of dreary brown or boring beige in the game that you can’t completely eradicate. Zombo Buster Rising Switch NSP
