Razion EX Switch NSP Free Download Up until now, Razion‘s been enough of a scarcity that there just haven’t been that many impressions of the game. There was a risk its rarity would lend it an air of quality it might not actually live up to. I’m happy to report that isn’t the case. Razion EX is a fine horizontal shoot-em-up in the vein of NEOGEO classics like Blazing Star. It offers a few different difficulty levels that ensures there is something here for a wide variety of skill levels, and its scoring system has just enough depth to keep you coming back without being too complicated. The visuals have a great vintage look to them, and the soundtrack is superb. ROMSLAB.COM BEST SWITCH GAMES

Razion EX features six stages that take you through some interesting environments, each capped off by a battle with a massive boss. The bullets fly fast and furious, but you have a useful beam that you can charge up and let fly to clear enemies and their shots alike. The beam will also go through walls, and that’s an important part of the strategy. You can also alternate between two types of shots, basically coming down to a choice of destructive power versus mobility. There are no power-ups to collect, but defeated enemies will leave behind cubes that will give you points and charge your beam. A limited tool set, but it’s sufficient for the challenge you’ll face. Choosing when to use each type of shot and regulating your beams is the name of the game here.
Three difficulty modes
The three difficulty modes truly run the gamut in terms of what they offer. Most players should be able to make their way through the Novice mode without too much trouble, but the Normal and especially Maniac modes kick the heat up appropriately. You start with two credits, but you’ll unlock more as you go. You can also practice any stages or bosses you’ve reached. There is a standard set of video, audio, and control options including the choice of using scanlines and how intense you want them to be. Razion EX is another high-quality shoot-em-up in the Switch’s library, with a distinct flavor all of its own. While it’s not the most fully-featured of releases, it has all of the important options and modes you would want in a game like this. Crash Bandicoot 4 It’s About Time Switch NSP

The different difficulty modes are well-balanced, and whether you’re going for score or survival there is a good time to be had here. Shoot-em-up fans of all sorts will find things to appreciate in this game. The score system is based on growing gold cubes and using the beam to freeze the cubes. It has 3 game modes (NOVICE/NORMAL/MANIAC). Changes for EX version: – reworked game play – re-balanced and reduced difficulty – added bullet canceling for certain enemies – reworked controls and ship movements – upgraded graphics and added 32 bit effects – upgraded to widescreen – added scanline filter – slightly reworked levels – reworked scoring mechanics – unlock-able continues – added training mode for unlocked levels and bosses – added small ending – CD quality music Game.
On top of that
There isn’t a videogame in the world that is good enough to justify trying to find a “reasonable” scalper selling it over three times retail price. The devs can pound sand on this one. I understand that game development is hard and expensive, and on top of that, these guys are working in a genre that appeals mostly to people like us. But as things stand, I’ll never get a chance to play this game unless someone I know lucks into an affordable copy. And because there are so many other videogames out there to play, by the time they do decide to cave in and release it digitally, the game will effectively have been off my radar for so long I may not even hear about it again, short of maybe people on Reddit celebrating its release. So I missed out on the first three times Razion EX went up for sale. Sold out in under two minutes. I prefer physical and would happily purchase Razion on the eShop and then get the physical. I’ll go and pick up Gunlord on the eShop to increase support. I understand where they are coming from with being hesitant to release Razion EX on the eShop. Shmup’s are a niche market and doesn’t get the attention that other mainstream titles and types of games get. From a consumer standpoint, I’m fine with limited releases, but it is so frustrating to want to pick up an awesome game, just to have scalpers gobble them up. There are other limited physical publishers that don’t suffer from this problem. If NgDEV is able to implement this software on their online store, this major problem goes away.
The piece of the puzzle
The piece of the puzzle that’s missing for me is, what do they lose by having a digital version available? My assumption (and it’s pretty obvious imo) is that their strategy is to artificially introduce scarcity, driving interest and boosting sales. Someone else here got downvotes for suggesting that they’re buying up and scalping their own games. Far-fetched, but the reality isn’t much better — they’re making it harder to play their games and letting scalpers profit so they can take advantage of fomo to make sure they sell every copy. Even if they relent on digital versions, at this point, that’ll look just as cynical: They’ve milked the collectors for all they can, so they can push out an affordable version of this previously “un-gettable” shmup so have their cake and eat it too. The only alternative would be if this is their way of sticking it to Nintendo for requiring big fees for putting games in the e-shop, or taking a big percentage cut of digital sales, but I’ve heard different things about what the numbers actually are, and this isn’t the rationale they’ve given (“we were disappointed with digital sales” makes it sound like they just got their egos bruised — not a great basis for a business decision). Either way, surely they could price the games so their profit margin is better on digital copies than on this boutique print run? Anyway, the bits about the cube scoring and showcasing the soundtrack were some really good selling points, and the most compelling stuff about the game I’ve seen so far (their gameplay trailers were NOT doing a good job).
