MARVEL vs. CAPCOM Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics Switch NSP Free Download Romslab Capcom’s first foray into the Marvel universe — and the collection’s surprise bonus — is 1993’s The Punisher, a terrific Final Fight-style belt scroller. This marks its first ever true arcade port (the Mega Drive version being heavily cut down) and allows two players to team up online as either Frank Castle or Nick Fury. Wonderfully un-PC, it’s both masochistically violent and incredibly tactile. It’s fantastic to play, looks great, and should be enough to tip any fence-sitter onto the side of a purchase. Long before the explosion of the MCU, wasn’t wasted. In 1994 it released X-Men: Children of the Atom for arcades, applying the Street Fighter roadmap to Marvel’s favourite mutant league. Full of ultra-cool comic book visual panache, this X-Men-focused brawler features six playable characters, including Wolverine, Cyclops, Colossus, and Psylocke, as well as Magneto, Sentinel, and neat additions like Silver Samurai and Omega Red. Despite its traditional one-on-one system, it comes with flashy Hyper Combo attacks of variable depths and properties, super jumps, and subsequent Aerial Raves
Players can view more than 500 pieces of artwork from all 7 titles along with never-before-seen development documents used to make the original games.
As well as a limber recovery roll system. It’s very intriguing for fans of this particular Marvel IP, and an Akuma secret battle can be unlocked if you fulfil several strict requirements. A hitbox viewer, rollback netcode, and Museum mode’s hundreds of art pieces and music tracks are nice, but they all meet the baseline expectations for another Capcom Fighting Collection. Marvel vs. Capcom’s influential name will likely bring a lot of newcomers to this bundle, so disappointment at a lack of improvements won’t be widespread, but there is a worrying amount of complacency here for what should be a sequel. Issues like all seven games sharing a single quick save slot offline are still around, increasingly-standard online crossplay is absent, move lists now lack “Air OK” callouts for ground-and-aerial specials, and even navigating the sub-menus of the collection feels like it should have improved over the past couple of years. This heightened scrutiny is due to the collection’s high-profile Capcom-made Marvel games, and the surrounding missteps do little to harm their worth. Japanese and English ROMs offer slightly different balance for every title, and some new bug fixes.
This collection boasts a number of beginner-friendly features such as adjustable difficulty levels, One Button Specials, and training modes.
Mostly for MvC2, have resolved crashing issues while also creating new tech for competitive players. Of special note, however, is Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter’s inclusion of the comedian guest fighter Norimaro in its Japanese version. It’s the first time this joke character has officially left Japan, and demonstrates effort beyond the first Capcom Fighting Collection’s failure to include a version of Darkstalkers 3 with its complete roster, or secret character Dee. Considering how difficult it is to rerelease licensed games, completionists will be happy to see all these titles together outside an Arcade 1Up cabinet. Here Comes Niko! Switch NSP

Some games, like the Infinity Gems mechanic in Marvel Super Heroes, have unique gimmicks. That said, the lineup feels a bit redundant considering how directly the games build upon each other. I spent most of my time playing Marvel vs. Capcom 2, which recycles the majority of its roster from the other included releases. Maybe you’ll have a different favorite. It’s reminiscent of Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection, a package with 12 games derived from a core four. If you need a break from the head-to-head brawling, Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection also includes 1993’s The Punisher.
Create a lobby with friends and battle head-to-head, play co-op, or spectate other matches.
The centerpiece of the collection is unarguably Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes. As one of the most well-documented and highly-requested fighting games to receive the port treatment, very little can be said about it that hasn’t been already. While it was infamously looked down on at the time of release by seasoned fighting game players, it’s since grown to become one of the most beloved games in the community for a number of reasons. MvC 2 might be a favorite among fighting game pros, but it always had extremely strong casual appeal.

It was the ultimate ‘who would win in a fight’ game years before guest characters were commonplace in the genre – and with its 3-vs-3 tag team setup and massive 56-character roster, there are countless opportunities for team synergy and dazzling combos. Now, notably, MvC 2 is infamously, comically unbalanced. As mentioned earlier, there is a very clear set of top-tier characters that handily outclass the rest of the roster. At the highest level of play, it’s extremely common to run into teams featuring Cable, Sentinel, Magneto, or Storm largely thanks to their strong full-screen abilities.
