Mecha Ritz: Steel Rondo Switch NSP Free Download Romslab Mecha Ritz: Steel Rondo does not make a good first impression. It is heinously ugly and most of the art assets are hopelessly amateurish. The story illustrations resemble middle-school level weeb craftsmanship- the kind of render made by a kid who is first learning to use Corel Painter for the first time. Colors are garish and poorly combined to make so truly repulsive tapestries that are a mess of clashing hues. There is no thought put into lighting or depth at all, making for a confusing image. Even the in-game sprites are messily drawn and overly-busy designs that are impossible to decipher. ROMSLAB.COM Best Switch Games

Despite all the hang-ups anybody might have with these vulgar art assets, Mecha Ritz: Steel Rondo is still a righteous shootem-up because it manages to get everything else right. It is easy to point and laugh at the graphics, but what does this game excel at? Find out in our Mecha Ritz: Steel Rondo review! Mecha Ritz: Steel Rondo is rotten with all the markings of a doujin game. The developer is seemingly a programmer first and an artist a distant twelfth, but the lone developer deeply understands what makes for a good shooter. It may not look like much, but Mecha Ritz: Steel Rondo plays very well. The “mecha”, which could be anything, all have very finely tuned controls.
Exciting Unlockables – 14 playable Mechas, branching paths, multiple endings, and more.
Movement is very fluid and responsive, with each craft having their bespoke stats and playability. There is a difference when tapping the fire button, versus holding it down. It changes the the attack to a totally different pattern and also throttles the ship’s speed to a crawl to make maneuvering around bullets easier. This makes it so players are effectively shifting between gears while shooting and makes the experience more engrossing than the average shooter. I have to give compliments to the music, it’s an FM synthesized track that takes me way back to my gaming years as a child. It perfectly suits the gameplay and sounds excellently produced. It actually ends up making some of the other aspects of the title feel quite cheap by comparison. UI and lazy narrative aside, the gameplay is actually pretty good. It’s what you would expect from a top-down Bullet Hell shooter. There are several different ships to choose from, all with varying weapons and bombs. I feel the developer has too much confidence in the replayability multiple ships can add as they really aren’t that dissimilar from one another. Each level features several bosses, all with different attack patterns and difficulties. The method of killing bosses rarely divulges from the established routine though. Luckily the game is relatively short, so it never becomes too tiresome.
Deep Satisfying Combat – 15 handcrafted stages with 40 unique bosses.
There’s not a massive amount of content on offer. There’s one story mode to play through with a selection of different ships to use with a change of difficulty available; there’s a small amount of replayability here, but you won’t be coming back for weeks on end. The game can be a little unstable at times, Mecha Ritz crashed on me on more than few occasions, leaving me rather frustrated as it lost my progress. Much like Genesis era games, once you turn the game off, you have to start all over again when it is turned back on. This is something I quite like, it adds an extra layer of urgency – you just need to make sure the game is stable. Hobo: Tough Life Switch NSP

The shooting is a total blast. That’s a good thing considering you never stop shooting. To some this may sound dull – constantly tapping or simply holding the shoot button for 30-minute stretches of time – but this game earns its passage by supplying every level with new enemy types, bullet patterns, and a plethora of colorful bosses. You can dispatch these either through brute force or by destroying key components on their bodies. As you play and replay levels, you find quicker and more efficient ways to dispatch of these goons to increase your score, time, and rank. Now, about the rank system in this game: from the outset, it gives you a default rank of zero.
Apocalyptic Mechanized Setting – A story of destructive genius and human will.
Your rank increases by destroying enemies quickly and from close up, and decreases from taking damage or dying. As your rank increases, the game’s difficulty also increases. Don’t get me wrong, even if you coast through from beginning to end in the 0-20 range, it will still put you through the wringer. However, if you’re truly insane, you can modify your starting rank into the 100s, 200s, or (lord have mercy on your soul) 300s. I don’t know how high it goes, because every time I return to the main menu, it increases. It’s unclear if this is intentional design, a demon possessing my game, or some combination thereof.

Everything I have mentioned above speaks to Mecha Ritz: Steel Rondo‘s incredible ability to be accessible to just about anyone while also providing a whale of a challenge to anyone up for it. The biggest underlying issue is that there are so many factors at play in the game, but it explains so little. Nothing in the game itself tells you about rank, the Heat stat, branching levels, or why the robots say coffee sizes when they explode. The README acts as a sort of manual, but most players probably won’t figure that out. Even after reading through the file there are some things I don’t understand.
