Minoria Switch NSP Free Download Coming off the back of its previous game, Momodora: Reverie Under the Moonlight, Bombservice’s Minoria feels like a natural evolution in many ways. It’s a fast-paced Metroidvania with a sharp focus on aggressive combat, but also contains many staple tropes of the genre, including collectable items, hidden passageways, and unlockable abilities. Fans of the studio’s previous games, and indeed Metroidvanias in general, will definitely get a kick out of this one. ROMSLAB.COM Best Switch Games

You play as Sister Semilla, a badass, sword-wielding nun who, alongside her companion, Sister Fran, must travel the ruins of the Kingdom of Ramezia to free the kidnapped Princesses from the heretic witches. It’s a pretty cool setup, and the game ultimately weaves flavours of religion and faith into its narrative, but never goes too far into these aspects to risk alienation. It’s a rather bleak game overall, and the dark tone is a stark contrast to the more vibrant Reverie Under the Moonlight.
The gameplay is rather typical of a Metroidvania, though it’s definitely a step up from titles like Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night in terms of its combat. You start off with rather basic attacks, but the fluidity of the combat is really impressive. You feel incredibly powerful right from the start, and this is bolstered by an effective parry manoeuvre that, if utilised correctly, allows you to counter-attack with fearsome speed and aggression, taking down most regular enemies in one swoop.
Boss Battles
Boss battles are particularly impressive, and while you will come across huge, intimidating beasts, we found the simple, one-on-one showdowns with the game’s witches to be the most fun and rewarding. These are tough fights, and you’ll need to call upon all of your abilities to triumph, including the dodge roll, parry ability, and limited doses of healing incense to recover from damage. As you progress, you will gain additional combat abilities, and even some magic attacks to assist you, but the game never allows you to become complacent, and we love it for that. Graphically, we’re a bit torn on the overall art design. Stepping away from the pixelated graphics of the Momodora series, the game takes on a more 2.5D approach, and although it runs smoothly enough for the most part, we did notice a few dips in frame rate here and there. Additionally, there’s a distinct lack of variety in the environment design and enemy design, and if you don’t refer to the game’s map system frequently enough, you’ll easily get lost within the rather samey corridors and chambers.
Minoria is a great Metroidvania that we’d hate to see slip under the radar amongst the more well-known titles like Bloodstained and Hollow Knight. It’s not quite as feature-rich as some of the other titles in the genre and will only last roughly 5 hours or so, but the combat is so impressive, that we’d urge you to check it out.
Yet another masterfully crafted Metroidvania is upon us! Don the habit of Sister Semilla
Brazilian developer Bombservice is back with what is intended as a spiritual successor to the series Momodora. Smite evil from the land as a sword-wielding nun, wading through the blood of witches and heretics on your path to free Ramezia from the clutches of all things unholy. Director rdein has been developing games for more than 10 years already, with his first entry into the series Momodora releasing exclusively on itch.io back in 2010. While the first couple of entries in the series remain in relative obscurity, Momodora: Reverie Under The Moonlight has earned a sizeable following and a “very positive” review status on Steam. Inspired by games such as Mega Man and Cave Story, rdein has grown from strength to strength as a developer. Some consider it inferior to Reverie Under The Moonlight, but Minoria is a well-polished and excellently crafted title. You play as Sister Semilla, a leggy nun embroiled in a war against witchcraft and heresy. Her companion, Sister Anna Fran, does most of the talking throughout the game. Semilla lets her sword do the talking. Ramezia, the kingdom in which this game takes place, is a theocratic monarchy that carries out violent inquisitions against witchcraft at the behest of the clergy. The game kicks off in the midst of a massive ritual started by the witches. There are corpses littering the hallways of this cathedral, blood all over the walls and enemies around every corner. It is unknown what the intent of the ritual is, all that you know is that you must put a stop to it.
Gameplay
Our protagonist, Sister Semilla , is a right-handed nun who is armed with a sword and a cross and can perform various actions, including attacking with a sword, blocking, dodging (doing cartwheels) and casting spells (with her cross). The combat system is very satisfactory in large part due to its good control and the ability to do cartwheels to dodge and its parry , which responds perfectly and allows us to make a counterattack if we do it well. It should be noted that we will be quite fast compared to the enemies, but on the contrary, if they reach us they will do us a lot of damage, so it is important to learn their attack patterns to know how to attack and dodge at the right time if we do not want to die after receiving just a couple of attacks. Every time we defeat them, we will gain experience points and we will level up , improving our statistics, something very common in any title with RPG touches . We can also acquire different swords, as well as find or buy different spells in some locations. Although we can only equip a few spells, it is interesting to try them all and change them depending on the challenge we face. Some have active effects, while others have passive effects and will act simply by equipping them.
And speaking of enemies, the truth is that they are little varied , so they are repeated more than necessary and also have few attacks (most only one). Things improve when we talk about the final bosses , which have more elaborate attack patterns. One of the most interesting aspects is that after defeating some of them, the title will make players ask ourselves certain questions. World’s End Club Switch NSP+ Update
