Murderous Muses Switch NSP Free Download Romslab Murderous Muses is another FMV infused game from D’Avekki Studio after their previous release two years ago, Dark Nights with Poe and Monroe. This isn’t quite as FMV heavy as their previous game, the video mainly cropping up in the form of interview footage with the six suspects of the piece. It’s a bit of an oversimplification perhaps, but Murderous Muses replicates the feel of Cluedo somewhat. Though rather than your guessing Trevor in the study with the baseball bat, you have to watch a fair chunk of interview footage to unlock the respective police interviews. You play the role of an unseen nightwatchman in an art gallery on the island of Mirlhaven and it’s down to you over three successive nights to deduce who the killer of one Mordechai Grey is. He being the artist responsible for all the paintings in the gallery including the six suspects, they being the titular muses. This chap Mordechai has given all of the muses just cause to be rightly peeved with them, if not actually out to murder him. It’s down to you to seek out the respective portraits and place them in the right spot within each night’s gallery to unlock the three or four videos. These in turn will make the police interview for each available.
Solve a murder mystery that re-rolls every time you play
Murderous Muses is split up into three days and three nights, each featuring its own unique gameplay. During the days, you can walk around the museum at your leisure, pulling paintings from crates and pairing them up with plaques on the walls. It’s a game of educated guesses, which can vary in challenge from names like “The Lighthouse” that match their subjects literally, to the more abstract, like “Revenge.” There is no limit here to the number of times you can try a painting above a plaque, but once you get one correct, an audio tour button will open up and you can learn something about the painting. Since Mordechai painted many scenes from his life and the town, each audio clip reveals an interesting piece of lore about the strange island of Mirlhaven. The writing is macabre and occasionally absurd, but in a good way. Think “Welcome to Night Vale,” but a little toned down. Ghost stories and bits of history tie into each other, sometimes in subtle ways that make the world feel intriguing and real. Even though you never leave the museum at any point, these little touches make the world of Murderous Muses feel large and full of life. With the guidance of notes that your boss has helpfully left around, you can end the day portion by resting in front of the TV.
Explore a procedurally-generated gallery and share seeds with friends
You awaken deep into the night, which is where the real fun happens. On the first night, after a confusing tutorial that really only makes sense in retrospect, you find yourself back in the reception area, where six of the museum’s portraits are suddenly scattered around the room. The notes from your boss are gone, replaced by new ones from a man named Higgins – and more disconcertingly, he begins speaking to you in a disembodied voice. Higgins, it seems, has plans for you. Not only has he replaced the entire audio tour to teach you the “real truth” about Mirlhaven. Aaero: Complete Edition Switch

He’s also setting you on a quest to solve the murder of Mordechai Grey. The six portraits now littered around the reception desk, Mordechai’s former muses, are the only suspects. As easy as the mechanics are, understanding how Murderous Muses works is a little more tricky. There is this brief tutorial involving a picture of a key that kind of teaches you how to use the paintings in the game, but that same tutorial is also very light on details. I had to do four different runs before exactly how things worked began to click. As a quick example, every one of the six suspects has an information board that will have certain keywords and a number. Let’s say one of those words is ‘Job 1’.
A persistent ‘trophy room’ to store collectibles
You need to take the portrait of that suspect to a different location in the gallery that has that specific topic, place the portrait of the suspect and press the word ‘Job’. This will then play an FMV of a police interview that will contain a clue or several clues. Rinse and repeat for every word and every suspect and use your detective noodle to work out who the killer is. Murderous Muses is a game where you really, really need to pay attention and missing a vital clue is easy. Even more so, you can only use each painting a set number of times before it runs out of ‘Eyes of Mordechai’.

There are little orbs that will give you insight into what Mordechai Grey (the murdered victim) saw before he died. If a painting has run out of Eyes of Mordechai, then it can no longer be used to gather clues. So you really have to be aware of which painting you use when and where. The six main characters are Dominique the saucy amdram maven, Lilith the undertaker, Otto the ventriloquist with backchatting puppet, Professor Myers the apparently straightlaced academic, Sunday who’s one half of a pair of primadonna tennis twins and finally Xavier the doctor who may not be that competent or ethical.
