Nour: Play With Your Food Switch NSP Free Download Romslab Nour has around 20 different diorama like playgrounds, each exploring a different type of food. The face buttons and d-pad of your controller each trigger a different action. In the ice cream bathtub it might be dropping fruit or gummies from the sky, or showing sprinkles out of the shower. By holding L1/LB you can then use the same eight buttons again to trigger another eight actions. It is entirely up to you what you trigger and when and you can, to some degree, aim food so you can dress each sandbox playground how you like. Be aware though, that Nour’s world is bouncy. Vibrant and squishy and so food will bounce, slip, flop and drizzle off the sides and so you’ll never quite get something exactly where you want it. Want exacting pizza topping orientations? You’ll struggle, but you can’t undo anything so you have to go with what you’ve got and make it work. That said, Nour isn’t a really a decorative tool, its more a playground. Each level has its own tools like food dye to colour milk or broth, a blow torch to toast food or melt chocolate, a tenderiser for meat and so on. Whilst these are wildly fun to play with.
A suite of kitchen tools with which to slice, dice, and further customize your creations.
The world’s rules are not consistent and so things you expect to melt don’t, or an egg doesn’t crack when hammered – it just looks a bit square. Again, experimentation is key here but it does feel like some things are missed or confused opportunities at times. It probably speaks to how much chaos and fun you can have in each level that these little things stand out because one level demands you pop corn kernels into popcorn but then other foods later don’t behave the same way. There’s no doubt this novel little game will keep you going for a while. Amber City Switch NSP

Even without a tangible end goal, there’s absolutely some fun to be had just mucking around with food — stacking burgers into the stratosphere, flinging tapioca balls into a cup of milky tea, or throwing stuff into a microwave and watching the results. As mentioned, you can go a little crazy, spawning hundreds of objects and having them form constellations, or you can aim for intricacy, creating delicious-looking American breakfasts or bowls of ramen. Whatever you fancy, a basic photo mode lets you snap Instagram-worthy shots. However, Nour is more a quick snack than a filling main course.
A fully dynamic soundtrack that reacts to your actions; keep a beat to enchant your food with a variety of surreal effects.
For us, it’s like a packet of crisps; lots of flavour and satisfying while it lasts, but it’s all over very quickly. You can nosh through this game in an hour or two, after which you’re given more ways to mess with each level, but there’s little reason to return for seconds. It’s a neat novelty, it makes solid use of the DualSense’s features, and it looks and sounds great. Ultimately, though, it didn’t hold our attention for long. Of course, everyone’s taste buds are different, so you may enjoy toying with this endlessly, but for us, it’s no more than a yummy appetiser. Amelia’s Garden Switch NSP

Most stages here offers up a specific set of foodstuffs and the same general arsenal of utensils, and you’re welcome to try and puzzle out how they’re best combined to create some semblance of a “solution” but the real joy is just trying shit to see what happens. There are baked-in outcomes and deviously-hidden secrets to uncover, but there are also physics interactions – both plausible and abstract – to play with, cooking principles to act out and even musical, rhythmic elements to mess with. Not every section is strictly a look at a dish or ingredients.
Freely move between 20+ playful vignettes, from the nostalgia of the classic American diner to the Zen purity of placing boba in a glass of milk tea.
Some are more toy-like with toasters arranged into drum pads or a microwave you can throw an assortment of junk into to see what cooks. Nour works as well as it does largely because, bereft of the two senses you’d primarily associate with food, the others are engaged so fantastically. Colour and form are explored in inventive and inviting ways, as is sound thanks to a healthy smattering of sick beats (but no sick beets, sadly) and kitchen acoustics, but with controller in hand and the analog nature of its interactions there’s also a wonderful tactility to everything that rounds out its sensory encounters.

Most of these foods are things you have seen before and most likely have even tried. Quickly, you can learn what the different tools do, and you can find yourself adding salt to the dish or adding food coloring to change what it looks like. There is even a level where you can grind cherries and chocolate, to see what it makes. Nour: Play with your Food doesn’t have any sort of goals or time limits, instead, tthe actual bit of the game that guides you is also open ended, just introducing what keys you can press in the specific scene, before letting you play.
