Part 1: Configure Network DNS Settings

The first step is to configure your PS5’s network settings to redirect traffic through the custom DNS server.

1. Navigate to Settings > Network > Settings > Set Up Internet Connection
2. Select your current network connection
3. Scroll to the bottom and choose Set Up Manually
4. Configure your connection type:
   • For WiFi: Manually enter your network name (SSID) and password. Set Security to “WPA-Personal (WPA/WPA2)”
   • For a LAN Cable: Simply proceed to the next step
5. Under DNS Settings, change the setting from “Automatic” to Manual
6. Set the Primary DNS to 127.0.0.2. Leave the Secondary DNS blank
7. Press Done and wait for the connection to establish

Part 2: Fake Account Activation

You need a “fake-activated” account to run Y2JB properly. This is different from a legitimate PSN account.

• If you have a legit PSN-activated account, you cannot use it directly with Y2JB. You must create a separate, new offline account for this process.

To fake-activate a new account:

1. Create a new local user account on your PS5
2. Open the etaHEN toolbox while logged into this new account
3. Navigate to the “Remote Play” menu
4. The account will be automatically fake-activated and is now ready for use with Y2JB

Part 3: Installing YouTube & Y2JB Files

Follow the instructions for your specific PS5 type.

For Jailbroken PS5

1. Install the YouTube app version 1.03 PKG on your PS5
2. Use an FTP client to access your PS5’s file system
3. Navigate to the following directory (create the folders if they do not exist):

   /user/download/PPSA01650

4. Download the download0.dat file from the releases page and transfer it to this directory using FTP

For Non-Jailbroken PS5

1. Download the backup file from the releases page
2. Follow Sony’s official guide to restore backup data from a USB drive

Part 4: Sending Payloads

You can send payloads using the provided payload_sender.py script (requires Python installed on your computer).

Usage:

# Standard usage (uses default port 50000)
python payload_sender.py  

# To specify a custom port
python payload_sender.py   

Examples:

# Sending a JavaScript payload to the default port
python payload_sender.py 192.168.1.100 helloworld.js

# Sending a JavaScript payload to a specific port
python payload_sender.py 192.168.1.100 50000 helloworld.js

# Sending a binary payload (like HEN) to port 9020
python payload_sender.py 192.168.1.100 9020 payload.bin

Part 5: Lapse Payload (For Older Firmwares)

After the Lapse payload executes successfully, you need to send the HEN (or any other .elf binary) to port 9021. You can use any TCP payload sender for this, such as netcat or the payload_sender.py script.
