Speed or Death Switch NSP Free Download Romslab In Speed or Death, you have four, yes only four races to choose from. One where a giant monster attacks a city, another where sandworms attack a military base, a third where aliens attack a racetrack, and finally a volcano goes off in the county. For a budget indie title, I have to give the developers credit where it is due. They tried, and tried hard. Each level is fairly long and the effects can be quite good for what they are. The announcer is pretty good. Just that things are rough, very rough. ROMSLAB.COM Best Switch Games

Bugs and glitches abound in Speed or Death driving is horrendous and there are blatant racist caricatures: In Speed or Death, race cars appear and disappear at random. A boulder drives around. Different surfaces all drive the same. For some reason I won’t accelerate despite putting my foot on the gas. My car will randomly get stuck and I’ll have to respawn via the R stick. Even worse, driving feels floaty in the base car. Pressing the handbrake will either allow a nice drift, or send you into a wall.
Multiple game modes including time trial, elimination, and multiplayer
Despite playing a race over and over, I never seem to get better. Half the reason is finding your way is a lot of times trial and error, especially in the desert and racetrack. Other times I failed because of randomness. In the Aliens one, I was making good time, then for some reason, the AI piled up with me in the middle. I assume this was intentional, but still really not fun when you’re stuck and have to respawn. In Speed or Death, you are given four tracks to romp around in. Each one has you choosing a car and then following a series of arrows. A time limit ticks down in an arcade style, and you need to reach the next checkpoint to replenish it, all the way to a final checkpoint. The complication is that these are races through disaster movies. In Money City Rampage, a Godzilla-like creature starts stomping about; in Disaster in a Desert, sandworms eat up a military facility; in Gold End Volcano there are meteors and dragons; in Race Against Space it’s aliens.
Every “circuit” is a sprint race, making it less of a racer and more of an action game.
Their antics cause the track to explode, switch lanes, create dead-ends and other real-time obstacles. You have to have your wits about you, as a clear path can become dragon-scorched in a matter of seconds. Split/Second comes to mind, but with less AAA bluster and a greater emphasis on racing against the clock, rather than beating opponents. Your aim will commonly be to beat your old time, beat your previous progress, or just know where the bloody hell you’re going. Bus Driving Simulator 22 Switch

The next course includes climbing through mountains and deserts as players storm through military bases fighting giant worms that come straight out of Tatooine. Rounding out the second of the two “medium” courses is a speedway which confused me at first because it places the player on a legit starting grid. After avoiding monsters for the past two courses, it’s great to have a resemblance of a normal race. That is until you realize that some of the cars are driving in the opposite direction.
According to the progress bar above, I should be within the finish goal. Yet I’m still driving somewhere…
They are doing so to avoid a giant UFO destroying the track with lasers along with squid alien monsters reigning terror everywhere. Lastly, the sole Difficult course is in the countryside complete with a scenic drive along the ridge, complete with hurling volcanic rocks and magma. Of course, the player is expected to go through the volcano while avoiding sleeping dragons and trying not to get burnt to a crisp themselves. For only four courses

Each of the courses is unique enough to break away from the mundane “city” course or “desert” track. The visuals on the Switch are fairly decent despite the lack of anti-aliasing and most of the pretty bells and whistles being absent from the other console releases. When it’s not stuttering to load everything due to destruction happening at once, the game runs smoothly in portable mode as well. The graphics, while not groundbreaking, provide a visually appealing backdrop to the chaotic landscapes. BUSTAFELLOWS Switch NSP
