Are some really solid/creative designs, doesn’t change up the gameplay style or pace. To say the pace of the game is fast/furious would be an incredible understatement. The matches, which last probably two minutes at most, are quick hitters that make it difficult to find much to complain about. Like stated previously, the game is simple and fun. That said, the game is so simple that it may not play or look like something incredibly different from the last 2D brawler you might have run into on a console. Sure, it’s not as complicated as a Super Smash Bros., but its simplicity is more in content than in strategy.

This seven chapter zany adventure (which you can play along with a friend) will not only enable you to experience all eight different characters with their own unique stats and special moves, but it will also act as a training for the multiplayer mode. Completing it will unlock every stage, character and extra weapons to be used in the other modes. It will take you no more than half an hour, but great humour ensures you will be smile every minute rom the get-go of Super Rocket Shootout, you control a ragtag group of bank robbers that come equipped with their varying play styles.

These characters consist of brothers Good Twin and Bad Twin (the latter who is a raving pyromaniac), a sniper named Maurice and a luchador named El Bruto. Due to their squabbling during a recent bank heist, the group breaks apart and begins to cause vast amounts of chaos. Because of this, it’s up to you to be the last one standing in the wake of of your squad’s disagreements. Aside from the four bank robbers, you will also have four other characters to unlock in the game’s story mode. However, in terms of the game’s story mode (which I recommend using the tutorial before making a splash anywhere else).

It’s rather forgettable and inconsequential to the whole meat of the game. While the chatter between the characters may seem cute to some, I found myself furiously skipping each of the dialogue segments in between matches. The game’s attempts at humor never really connected with me unfortunately. Thankfully, this mode is over in a flash, clocking in at under just an hour. The fighting is a great mix of brawler and shooter. All the characters have shotguns, so there are no long range shots; you have to get up close and personal.
