Taxi Chaos Switch NSP Free Download It’s been a minute since we last got a proper, honest-to-God taxi driving game. Putting aside a couple of questionable mobile spin-offs, Sega’s own Crazy Taxi series has remained dormant for more than a decade. Since then, of course, even the word ‘taxi’ has largely been relegated from the English language for the far less fashionable ‘Uber’ (though we’re fairly confident there will never be a ‘Crazy Uber’ game).ROMSLAB.COM BEST SWITCH GAMES

The world is a much different place than it was back when Crazy Taxi launched, and the genre has, by and large, gone the way of the Dodo. Thankfully, Taxi Chaos is somewhat of a ‘spiritual successor’ to the Crazy Taxi franchise. It’s an admirable modern take on the genre, proving that games like this still have a place in 2021 – although we’re disappointed to report that its overall appeal is diminished by flawed gameplay, lack of longevity, and a few annoying glitches.
Do taxi games require a particular soundtrack to be fun?
The original great taxi game first hit the streets in 1999, and now that Sega can’t file patent suits over it, the door’s open to try and recreate the magic of Crazy Taxi. The newest Switch contender is Taxi Chaos, which does offer some modern features in the passenger-schlepping genre, but doesn’t put enough on the table. Get a passenger, and get them to their destination as fast as humanly possible regardless of what’s in the way. Set in a reasonable facsimile of New York, the chaos is simple to control: acceleration and braking (necessary for picking up passengers) are on the back triggers, and the A button causes the car to jump with hydraulics that are definitely NOT street legal.
Welcome to New Yellow City
In Taxi Chaos, players are tasked with picking up different passengers and transporting them to their desired destinations throughout New Yellow City. You’ll need to be quick, exploiting every shortcut you can in this massive city. There will be many comparisons between Taxi Chaos and the original Crazy Taxi, however Taxi Chaos actually takes a lot more cues from Crazy Taxi 2, which was released exclusively for Dreamcast in 2001. In addition to the core gameplay, both games take place in a mock New York City and both games provide the ability to jump, allowing for access to shortcuts and avoiding traffic. While comparisons to the older franchise are fair, Taxi Chaos does provide a few new ideas that help make it stand out. One such idea is the acceleration boost – a quick way to get back up to speed after you pick up a new passenger. Another is the increased level of platforming. Yes, there will be times where you’ll be timing jumps from building to building to hunt down special passengers and hidden collectibles. Taxi Chaos gives players two different cab drivers to choose from.
Banter Ad Nauseum
Taxi Chaos isn’t going to win any awards for best visuals, but it’s light-hearted, cartoon-like look is a perfect match for the gameplay. There are some occasional graphical hiccups. While the draw distance is impressive, sometimes the building facades don’t load fast enough giving them a sort of broken look to them. I also noticed quite a few objects, from hot dog stands to street lights, that aren’t placed properly or hovering above the ground. But, honestly, these are just small issues and don’t take too much away from the overall game.Attack On Titan 2 Switch NSP

The sound on the other hand can get quite irritating. The soundtrack is a mix of in-house instrumental rock tracks which are easy enough to tune out. Sure, it would have been great to have a licensed soundtrack like Crazy Taxi had – heck, The Offspring just released a new single that would be perfect for this game – but alas, the cost probably wasn’t worth it. The voicework is where things get rough. During each ride, the cabbie and the passenger exchange some light-hearted banter.
