Unlike, for example, the Total War series, where you can create and play quite large battles, this is simply software for creating and running battles. In other words, there’s nothing else – no campaign, no story – just battles. What does that mean in plain English? You choose a map, deploy troops, assign them defensive or offensive roles, and then start the battle. The real highlight is the sheer number of troops you can field, which can reach enormous proportions depending on your hardware. Class of Heroes: Anniversary Edition Switch XCI

Several thousand units on both sides are easily displayed and synchronized, allowing you to stage truly gigantic battles with tens of thousands of soldiers. This is made possible, among other things, by the fact that the individual units are rendered identically or with only slight variations, and the animations, while not ugly, are primarily functional and simple. This allows you to pit various troops against each other, such as medieval knights, bloodthirsty orcs or US Marines from World War II, but it severely limits the ability to field many different units. You can send up to eight different unit types into battle, which you can freely divide into teams.
Getting up close and personal to help change the tides of a massive battle, while rallying teammates and giving them orders!
You can also define their position on the map and their behavior. During the battles themselves, you can fly around with the free camera and watch the bloody action, or even take control of one of the numerous warriors involved. You can also issue some commands to the fighting troops – however, this is currently quite basic, and while it’s pretty cool to play a single soldier in a gigantic battle, this enjoyment is significantly diminished by the simple and monotonous animations. The focus here is clearly on devising and simulating a wide variety of scenarios – can a vastly outnumbered army of archers defend a fortress besieged by countless orcs, or should you pit 300 Spartans against an army of Persians in a classic scenario? Allows you to equip a few existing unit types with new attributes such as increased health or attack speed. In addition to classic historical units like knights, Romans, and US Marines, there are also a few unconventional units, such as the aforementioned orcs, powerful trolls, and penguins. However, the selection of units in the Early Access version is currently very limited, meaning that only a small number of different units can be chosen. The medieval forces are the most represented, offering heavy knights, swordsmen, archers, spearmen, catapults, and cavalry. Overall, the selection is still quite meager, which is why I sincerely hope that the game will receive Steam Workshop support.
Unfortunately there really aren’t many engines that you can chuck 10,000 characters in and expect good performance.
This is why I worked months on end to create the most powerful crowd rendering system ever conceived in Unity engine. The detail of each character has little effect on performance while each individual acts independently, but is working towards a greater good for his team. Each individual decides his own path and navigates complex environments. But I didn’t stop there! With the large open environments, I needed a more dynamic lighting solution than the one built in to Unity engine. So I built my own dynamic global illumination lighting engine. This enables bounce light completely in real time. What does that mean?

There are simply no limits to the carnage you can achieve in Epic Battle Simulator. Mess around with a massive variety of units. Everything from, Roman Centurions, Medieval soldiers, Knights, Orcs, Trolls, and yes, chickens! The main focus in this game is giving the player no restrictions to what he can do. That is why we decided not to limit the amount of units in battle. Want to see what a battle of 100,000 units looks like? We don’t recommend going past 10,000 for most machines but its your CPU, do what you want! On top of that, you can play as any one of the units in the game, getting up close and personal to help change the tides of a massive battle, while rallying teammates and giving them orders!
