Vagrus – The Riven Realms Switch NSP Free Download Romslab The game starts, in a somewhat traditional manner, with a cataclysm. A huge catastrophe has torn the once-great human empire to shreds. The Gods have abandoned us – for good, this time. Their place is taken by a race of new, evil and obscure divinities. They usher in an age of darkness and terror – with its only law being the survival of the strongest. This is where we begin our long and perilous journey, through these once-thriving lands. We are a vagrus, basically the leader of a caravan of slaves and warriors. Where would we lead the caravan, and what would we do with our party? Well – it’s entirely up to us. In this desolate world, all lay in ruins after the gods decided they’d had enough of people being shit and had a good old fashioned Apocalypse. In the aftermath, a cadre of dark otherworldly entities slipped through the tears in reality to visit evil and death upon what was left of the world. Previously modelled on ancient Rome, the remnants of Vagrus’ world are decaying temples, rotten gardens, shattered amphitheatres and endless wastelands. Caravans are necessary for transporting goods and VIPs across these wastes, but beasts and bandits and demons roam the wilds.
Criminal syndicates and religious organizations, these groups offer powerful rewards and boons to those loyal to their cause.
It’s a dangerous business, and Vagrus: The Riven Realms likes to remind you of that often. When you first start, you’ll need to create a character from a variety of elements that will send small ripples through the game. There’s no strong narrative, and instead Vagrus: The Riven Realms seems to want you to write your own story in its savage land. You can choose to play a tutorial story called Pilgrims of the Wasteland if you wish, though, which I’d recommend, as Vagrus doesn’t like to hold your hand. A vast portion of the game is spent in towns and settlements, trading goods and services. The Legend of Heroes Trails of Cold Steel IV

You have limited space in your cargo hold and your armour and weaponry is somewhat lacking initially, but the longer you survive and the more quests you complete, the tougher you’ll slowly become. There are ten factions scattered about the world, all of which require your help. Some are in direct conflict with others, and Vagrus uses this to force difficult decisions upon you. In fact, one of the things that makes Vagrus so interesting is that you won’t always know the effects of your decisions until later. Tackling different quests in a different order, or visiting settlements at different times can lead to very diverse playthroughs.
Each companion comes with unique combat skills, background stories, and personal quest lines that can upgrade them further when you complete them.
Which will sometimes force you down a certain path. At the best of times this opens up new routes, quests and rewards; at the worst of times this will lead you into situations you are underprepared for. Every time you set out into the wild you are rolling the dice on your entire playthrough. I’m not exaggerating, either. Random encounters with enemies can lead to fights you can’t win, while wandering blindly into new areas can see your caravan corrupted, poisoned, or beset. You lose people regularly, and unfortunately there are some situations you simply can’t prepare for the first time. The Last Kids on Earth & The Staff of Doom Switch NSP

A game where you idly wander around a sleepy magical village filled with rats, rabbits, birds and – as you’ll know if you know anything about the game – a lot of cats and dogs. Vagrus is exactly the opposite of that slice of life-style game, instead, there are giant killer bugs or rampaging former beasts of burden who can completely blindside your party in combat. Its world hates everything and so only the most tactful, or brutal survive. There’s even a type of combat where two larger collectives clash, in this you mainly opt forces in to fight, if you send out your hero.
Your crew of workers, fighters, scouts, and slaves have to be supervised closely to optimize their effectiveness.
Commander units and they’re just not good enough then they will simply keel over and die… that can be 15 hours after meeting them, hours after completing personal quests and carefully levelling them up to boost your caravan… you can’t afford to make stupid mistakes or rush ahead. This isn’t a complaint; we regularly see people praising the Souls games, Morrowind, Risen or The Witcher because they say ‘Come back when you are ready, not when you think you are ready’ and it’s the same here the only real layer of protection that you have here — beyond common sense and some small UI elements.

Most people I’ve met have been pretty sound, a welcome change from interpreting “difficult” as “everyone is a hostile prick for no reason”. The stock fantasy races are here but rarely remarked upon, with even the dragon people treated more like a neighbouring kingdom than fundamentally Other. As a roving trader you’re unremarkable, neither downtrodden nor particularly influential, and will mostly travel between settlements in an open world, doing the old low/high biz. There’s no main plot as such, just several smaller stories you might pursue. The Last Hero of Nostalgaia Switch NSP
