Wizordum Switch NSP Free Download Romslab You can choose between two classes to start which will alter your starting stats. As you progress through levels you’ll unlock weapons and secondary items at a pretty regular clip. Ammo and other item refills are pretty plentiful so regardless of which weapons I prioritized, I rarely found myself running out of ammo. I did find it a little awkward that switching weapons is on the radial menu that pauses the game, with seemingly no button to quickly tab through buttons. It means you’re breaking up the action every time you need to swap weapons. However, each weapon feels good to use, with unique ideal use cases for each one. ROMSLAB.COM Best Switch Games

An early favorite was an ice rod that could freeze enemies, before using an alternate function to shatter everyone you had frozen. Overall design is heavily influenced by the early first-person-shooters of the 90s. While much of Wizordum’s gameplay pulls from Heretic and Hexen, its visuals and elements of its level design reminded me more of Wolfenstein. Levels are labyrinthian but don’t feature any real vertical traversal outside of separately loaded zones. In other words while the game looks fully 3D, you are largely operating on a 2D plane. That being said, the level design is still highly complex. And while you don’t do much vertical movement, enemies can still attack from elevated positions.
You must search for the source of this corruption and push back the chaos before it consumes the kingdom in a speedrunning fantasy
Right from the start, levels have a lot of complexity and generally involve looping through previously explored areas as you find keys and access both critical and optional areas of each map. In an odd way it felt somewhat like Wizordum was starting from the middle of a game, with a lot of level complexity right from the get go. The designs are generally very good but it does make it harder for the levels to escalate as the game goes on. And indeed, if there is one word that comes to mind with Wizordum, it’s that: “Adventure.” Boomer shooters are often known for their winding paths, getting lost, or hunting for keys. But constantly retreading old paths isn’t an adventure. It can feel tedious. That’s not the case with Wizordum, thankfully, despite how vast the levels feel. Wizordum’s levels are chock-full of treasure and secrets, and if you’re into secret hunting, this game is absolutely for you. If you like running into walls, pressing the action button, and hoping to find a secret area, Wizordum fulfills that satisfaction. Usually, you gain treasure or ammo for your curiosity, meaning exploration is rewarding. Treasure can then be taken and exchanged for various upgrades at the end of levels.
A single-player campaign, traveling from the town of Grimbrook through the swamps, across the snowy mountains, and beyond.
This is one part that I didn’t see in Early Access; basically, complete a level, and you can buy secondary actions for weapons, or increase your capacity to fire spells attached to your chosen character. It adds a sense of progression in a genre that doesn’t usually have much of that. Gunplay and fun action is what people usually think of, when thinking of classic FPS titles. There are more components that make a game of this type good, of course. Replaying the original Doom recently reminded me of just how good a lot of the levels are to explore, how varied the encounters are and how smart the pacing of most of the game is. But if the guns feel bad in a game where most of your interactions are shooting the gun. VELONE Switch NSP

So to get it out of the way – similarly to how Wolfenstein 3D nowadays feels rather bland with its weapons and enemies, Wizordum isn’t very exciting or surprising. There’s precisely one interesting weapon here – a wand that freezes enemies that can be shattered afterwards, while the rest are either boring or just not very effective. The enemy variety is here, but functionally most of the enemies aren’t very fun and with later levels they tend to become more frustrating then challenging or interesting. I have to say that the idea to make this classic FPS feel almost like an action RPG is interesting in concept. You get two playable classes, each of whom has access to four spells you unlock as you play and one super spell.
Collect bonus items and conquer the toughest difficulties to reach the top of the leaderboard.
And the rest of the normal spells and also other magic potions and abilities are found in levels as usable items you can carry around and use when needed. And one of the big goals in levels involves gathering treasures, which ties with a shop where you can buy upgrades. But in practice, this feels rather superficial. Apart from spots where you’re basically required to use an item to avoid taking damage (usually for secret hunting), you barely ever need to use them. Or spells. Which aren’t that useful anyway, if I’m honest. So in the end, all of these systems simply overcomplicate the flow.

Wizordum is packed with secrets, and discovering them is what makes this game fun. Sometimes I stumble upon them by accident—a stray shot from my wand crumbles part of a wall, revealing a hidden room full of treasure. Other times, I’ll spot something just out of reach behind a barricade, or notice an open space on my map that looks explorable. And if I’m really lucky, I’ll find a tome that highlights hidden areas on the map. The game rewards curiosity—not just with gold, but also with valuable consumables that offer protection or help me take down the relentless waves of enemies. VENARI – Escape Room Adventure Switch NSP
