AM2R: Another Metroid 2 Remake Switch NSP Free Download AM2R stands for ‘Another Metroid 2 Remake’ which is the true nature of this project. In essence it’s a remake of Metroid II: Return of Samus, released for Game Boy in 1991, and whose main appeal was its radical graphics that were (at the time) ahead of their days and preceded Super Metroid on Super Nintendo and Metroid: Zero Mission also remade for Game Boy Advance from the first original title designed for NES. In the game you’ll embody Samus Aran once more, and you’ll have to face off against new evolutions of the Metroids in the depths of planet SR388. Or what’s the same, you’ll live a further development of Metroidvania where you’ll run through winding scenarios with only your map to guide you as it is generated on the spot. You’ll find improvements for your equipment and suit that’ll allow you to beat obstacles that appear suddenly along the way.
We don’t need Nintendo to celebrate when we have this
t’s been a couple years since I’ve played Metroid II: Return of Samus, but all of the memories came shine-sparking back to me as I booted up AM2R. The team has added more story to the beginning, but it’s not overdone and feels like the intro to Super Metroid, which is never a bad thing. As soon as I initiated planetfall, landed, and heard an awesome remix of the intro song, I was pumped.Double Dragon Neon Switch NSP

And it looks gorgeous too! There’s much more detail here than the original Game Boy was ever able to produce, and the colors really pop out of the screen. I did notice some weird screen tearing, but that could be on my end. I plan on checking the forums to look for a solution, but I’m in a bit of a rush today.
Show them that 2D adventure platformers are still a thing people want’
I’ve actually gotten to know the good doctor pretty well over the past few months. I just wrapped up an interview with him for the next Nintendo Force, where we talked about his inspirations, creative process, and any lingering regrets that he didn’t make AM2R into a wholly original property when he had the chance.Downwell Switch NSP

We’ll also have a review of AM2R from former Dtoid editor Tony Ponce, a debate about Metroid Prime: Federation Force, an interview with former Nintendo honcho Dan Adelman and Axiom Verge creator Tom Happ, and a review of Axiom Verge on the Wii U, which I just got a review code for minutes ago. It’s a heck of a lot more of a Metroid birthday party than we’ve gotten from Nintendo this year, that’s for sure.
One of the biggest additions
One of the biggest additions is a lore-justified scanner that provides information about Metroid life cycles, enemies, and the context that brought you to SR388, the titular enemies’ homeworld. Upon killing certain creatures or entering new areas, small messages pop up. There’s a nice little UI that allows you to jump from map to lore to equipment, and it all feels sleek. I’d go so far as to say that if Nintendo ever gets off its ass, it should crib some ideas from this remake.DRAGON BALL FighterZ Switch NSP

I don’t get paid extra for saying that, either. I also don’t get paid any more or less if the magazine sells better. I’m not even sure how much I get paid for working on the thing now, because if they let me, I’d do it free. Like Doctor64, I’m not in this for the cash. I’m in it for the fun, and I hope you are too. You can get the magazine here, but only if you pledge before August 23. I hope to see you in the letter pages
