It’s great to see a developer
That doesn’t just make a thing, but really attacks the problem of bringing the best game they can make. Top-down racing is underdone and unappreciated, and any decent top-down racer would be nice to see, but instead of decent racing, we get great racing; instead of just tracks, we get handmade tracks and procedurally generated tracks; instead of just road, we get multiple surfaces and they really matter. There are some things missing that should not be, like mixed surface tracks and a medal system to draw players into engaging with time trial mode and provide an unlock alternative to campaign mode. But the feature list does impress: a replayable campaign of procedural races and generated AI, local multiplayer, creative weapons, traps/hazards, mayhem (so much mayhem), weapons being optional, car customizing (simple stat upgrades not parts), novel art and music (the music’s not to my taste, but it’s certainly got a personality), leaderboard races, workshop vehicles, and even full-on track builder and workshop track sharing, with leaderboard racing for workshop tracks as well. It’s like the goal is to fill in for all those top-down racers that haven’t been made. I rather suspect it can.
