Miles & Kilo Switch NSP Free Download Flying a plane trough rough weather is always a perilous proposition, but doing so over a haunted archipelago is probably even more ill-advised. That hasn’t stopped Miles and Kilo from attempting to do so, almost immediately falling prey to a rogue specter named Ripple that forces their plane to crash and steals all the parts for good measure. Stranded and without a better plan, Miles decides to try to recover all the parts to make the plane airworthy again. It also happens to be a great excuse to begin a 36-level-long, island-themed platforming adventure. ROMSLAB.COM BEST SWITCH GAMES

Despite the titular duo, the game remains a single-player only affair. It is also worth mentioning that Kilo is a dog, in case you find it strange further ahead on the review why we hold him by a leash. A major departure from Kid Tripp is the ability to play with ‘autorun’. You can turn this function off, making the game play much more like a regular platformer. This also makes the game easier since you can properly take your time to accurately make those pixel perfect jumps needed to clear most levels. But if you enjoy the extra challenge, turning the feature on makes Miles constantly run towards the left, ensuring that you need some extra levels of skill to reach the safety of each level’s finish line.
Miles to go
Games like this simply fit the Nintendo console and where so many developers neglect the fact that the Switch can be used on a TV, that’s not the case here. Touch controls are gone and the actions of jumping or striking are on the face and shoulder buttons. Use whichever you feel comfortable with and the game will do the rest. Miles and Kilo have crashed their plane on an island and several enemies have stolen the pieces, scattering them over an overworld map akin to Mario Bros 3.Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Switch NSP

There’s a sand world, an ice world, all of the usual locales for the duo to race through. When controlling Miles, you can move him with the left stick, and you’ll treat each level like a standard platformer. Finding Kilo in a level changes the pace slightly. Miles grabs the leash attached to the dog’s collar, and Kilo runs full pelt towards the end of the level. Here, you’ll have to time jumps and rolls to soar over gaps, break through crumbling walls, or kill enemies.
Off for a dog
Thankfully, Miles can throw fruit at the enemies though. Limited ammo means collecting more fruit is essential and some levels end up feeling tactical as you reach a group of enemies with no fruit left and have to rethink the attacks you’ve used up to that point. This does mean there can be a lot of repetition – finding new ways to kill enemies by jumping on them instead or just from traps laid in later levels which require precision timing. Oftentimes progression will come down to memorising movement, noting when to jump, when to throw fruit and line up rolling underneath spikes.Graveyard Keeper Switch NSP

Miles and Kilo never feels unfair, which is refreshing. Any failure always comes back to trying something different. So much of the game could have been rinse and repeat action, but instead there’s a freshness in each world that comes from different methods of getting from A to B. Surf boards see you skipping over water, zip-lines propel you at speed and mine carts require acrobatics to reach the end of a level. On the surface, this looks like a cookie cutter pixel graphic platformer, but it evokes a sense of old school fun, without the complication of awkward mechanics. And everything, from the characters, to the skills feels fresh.
Gameplay
I also liked how Miles & Kilo operates on a score-based achievement system and does away with lives from the last game. Having a lives system in Kid Tripp broke the flow of the last game, and getting plopped back to the menu every time I lost all my lives killed a lot of enjoyment when really getting into the game. Here, you’ll be judged based on time taken to complete the stage as well as how much fruit you have left in hand. While you can pick up fruit from levels, there are some levels that restrict how much you can grab, so you’ll have to make some split-second decisions in order to either risk losing an attempt or losing a higher grade, from D to S.GRID Autosport Switch NSP

In addition to letter grades, there’s an in-game achievement system that is more cosmetic than anything else, but is still a fun diversion that perfectionists can complete to eke out a little more replay value. A playthrough won’t last more than a couple hours, but the replay value (and an unlockable time attack mode) will more than double that amount. It’s also one of those games that I can imagine speedrunners can try and complete in the shortest time possible.Grindstone Switch NSP
