MLB The Show 25 Switch XCI Free Download Romslab If you aren’t familiar with it, this is their persistent mode where you collect virtual cards and make your own team to compete in a variety of single-player and multiplayer modes. The last year or two of Diamond Dynasty got very convoluted as there were different sets and seasons that would reset throughout the year that would more or less invalidate your previous collections. That has been done away with in 2025, though it seems like with that change, it’s a much slower ramp up to putting together better teams. Overall though, it’s a positive shift. The mode also benefits from a very novel roguelike board game mode called Diamond Quest. ROMSLAB.COM Best Switch Games

You roll a die and move around a grid uncovering spaces and landing on challenges. The concept of this is awesome, as it puts you in a mixture of quick challenges (like strike out two batters in an inning or get an extra base hit) and slightly longer challenges (like a 3-inning game or scoring a certain amount of runs in 12 outs). It’s a highlight of MLB The Show 25, but on Switch, that snappiness isn’t present. Everything is slow to load and I got to a point where even though I enjoyed this mode, it just became a slog. Some of that blame can be placed on the lack of variety in challenges.
Celebrate history in Storylines as you learn about baseball legends and their amazing stories.
That carries over to most of the Diamond Dynasty mode. It’s a cool mode that just chugs on Switch. Given the deep-as-you-want-it simulation already established, this wasn’t a huge ordeal. That let the series simply fine-tune things and better align with the modern game, such as iterating on the mound during step-offs. But this year takes some gambles in refreshing ways. In the batter’s box, the new Ambush Hitting permits players to guess on pitch and location within the strike zone and adjusts the PCI size based on the guess. Get it right, the contact area grows. Get it wrong, the contact zone shrinks and makes the pitch harder to hit. It’s a fun little addition atop everything else and feels really rewarding. To that end, “guessing’ isn’t really the right word, as more in-depth players can pay attention to tendencies and game situations to increase the chances of making the right call on the incoming pitch. On the defensive side, a new fielding throw meter allows for more of a skill gap between players based on timing. It’s a welcome tweak in that it keeps things as basic as needs be but really powers some big-time defensive plays.
You collect and earn player cards and build your own lineup – with no time limits for seasons.
New animations to the game that affect how players react to balls in play. Reaction ratings actually matter now, as the animation that comes up is tied directly to the strength of that rating. The higher it is, the faster they react. It’s a split-second difference between a leaping catch to stop a line drive hit from landing in the outfield to watch the ball flash just over the tip of the glove. The studio added new indicators that show you the difference between elite Gold Glove defense and average. It means you’ll actually want to focus on defense during training or when scouting players in Franchise mode. Pokémon Scarlet XCI

It doesn’t make fielding any sexier than pitching or hitting — a near-impossible task — but it makes fielding more interesting and gives you something concrete to work towards as you train up players. You might even focus on fielding abilities in the RTTS mode over just hitting a bit. Speaking of hitting, the new Ambush Hitting system lets you have a little more strategy as a hitter. Ambush Hitting allows you to sit on pitches inside or outside the plate. Basically, you’re guessing where you think the pitch is coming from. The zone you choose slows things down, and the one you didn’t gets harder to hit.
It’s a brand-new roguelike game mode where you can earn rewards through moments, boss battles, and more.
It’s a different version of, say Guess Pitch or power swinging. Like those systems, the bonus from guessing correctly is awesome, but the tradeoff is still harsh enough to warrant leaning away. Plus, it’s missing the ability to sit on the top or bottom of the zone. It’s something that’s more needed as pitchers attempt to make you swing at a low curve or a high fastball which is a wholly bizarre name I have to assume they settled on because nothing else really fit. Essentially the new system is about using your knowledge of pitcher tendencies and paying attention to how the pitcher has been throwing to guess the location of the pitch before it’s thrown.

When you lock in an area of the strike zone your hitting area shrinks, and you’re given massive bonuses to a pitch thrown inside the zone if you guessed right. Conversely, if you thought a ball was going to inside, but the pitcher painted the plate then you suffer a massive decrease in your ability to register a hit. In my experience the downside of guessing wrong is far more damaging than the impact in getting it right, but this does allow a risk-reward system to be implemented in critical game moments when you need to drive in a run or get a critical hit with a mediocre hitter to get someone else up at bat.
