Moonglow Bay Switch NSP Free Download Romslab Love or hate fishing minigames, there’s no denying they’re a staple of the cosy set. But Moonglow Bay aims to blow that hook-and-line mechanic into a full game. This fishing sim from Bunnyhug and Coatsink launched in 2021 on Steam and Xbox to mixed reviews. The new Switch port (and starboard) starts out as a tranquil few days out on the water, but with bugs and some frustrating gameplay it becomes quite a stormy journey. The game begins with your partner being declared deceased after they went missing three years ago (you can choose pronouns and appearances for both). ROMSLAB.COM Best Switch Games

Your adult daughter, River, moves in to care for you and help you, alongside your cute dog, Waffles, who you can pat and take for walks. You open a present left for you: a fishing journal. And so begins your character’s healing and fishing journey. A mix of three types of sim games: a fishing sim, a cooking sim, and a store management sim, this adds a little bit of roleplaying to spice things up, with the protagonist going around talking the people of Moonglow, listening to the stories, and helping out in all sort of ways… but mainly by fishing and cooking, fishing and cooking, fishing and cooking.
Help revitalise the once-thriving fishing town, breathing new life into its weathered buildings.
This is the main thing on offer… and it gets boring really, really fast. This is one of those chill kind of experiences and thus it’s no surprise that everything takes its sweet time, but it’s all super repetitive as well. Again, this is meant to be a relaxing, casual-friendly kind of deal, but maybe it takes things a bit too far. The second problem is the way this handles the whole process of fishing and cooking. No, scrap that. Cooking. This is the annoying part. Fishing is nice and simple. One goes out to the sea, uses his/her/their fishing rod, net, or whatever, and catch a variety of Space Blaze Switch NSP

err, catches, depending on the bait used, the location and so on and forth. It’s simple, fun, and relaxing, and adding new species to your library can be addicting in a weird, Pokémon-like way. Cooking on the other hand is an assortment of repetitive, QTE-esque button presses. It’s tedious work, and not the kind that can be fun despite being tedious. This is tedious, full stop. As one might glean from the name, Moonglow Bay’s primary gameplay loop revolves around fishing. A fan-favorite activity in many an RPG, Moonglow Bay seems to add all the right details to fully flesh it out into a compelling core gameplay loop.
Traverse the Glacier and Sulphur zones, unravel the mysteries of the Astral Clouds, and prepare for encounters with the Mythical Monsters of Moonglow.
Four fishing rods, three lure types, and two bait types are available for experimentation. Additionally, an extensive catalog of fish, shellfish, and everything in between across a variety of biomes promises hours upon hours of gameplay as you try to collect them all. Once you actually begin fishing, however, the experience proves to not quite live up to its potential. For one, “striking” the fish, where you essentially give your fishing rod a hard yank to pull your line closer, makes catching even the feistiest of fish a fairly trivial matter. Spacewing War Switch NSP

Seeing as how casting line range seems to have little to no effect on the types of fish you catch, throwing out your line just a little ways away from your trawler and striking once or twice to close out the deal ends up being a disappointingly easy method even late into the game. The lackluster rod fishing is only exacerbated by the fact that net-fishing and lobster traps are simply more effective alternatives for the objectives you’re tasked with completing throughout the course of the game.
Cast nets, set traps, line, and ice fish to discover over 151 aquatic species lurking beneath the surface.
When paying thousands of shells, the in-game currency, is the norm for various upgrades and property renovations for meaningful progression, simply casting out a net to catch a handful of fish at once to cook and sell in batches later naturally becomes the more appealing option. While this means you do end up missing out on the larger species of fish, dishes cooked with medium-sized fish and various shellfish and crustaceans sell for more than enough to complete the more expensive objectives without too much difficulty.

Unlike most life sims where you’re a younger adult that’s single and new in town, Moonglow Bay places you in the shoes of an elderly individual. After choosing the appearance and preferred pronouns for both your protagonist and their partner, you quickly learn that the two have moved from Ontario to the peaceful and picturesque Canadian coastline town of Moonglow Bay to live out the rest of their days together. Residing in Moonglow Bay and helping restore its floundering fishing trade is your partner’s dream Spacebase Startopia Switch NSP
