Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley Switch NSP Free Download Romslab Tove Jansson is the creator of the Moomin series, where children’s books, television series and movies have kept the series going for years. The stories have offered a cast of interesting characters, thoughts about life and all in a world from your wildest imagination. Yet, so far there has not been a full-fledged adventure game. In March 2024 we’re finally getting just this, a title from Hyper Games called Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley that let’s players experience life as Snufkin does. ROMSLAB.COM Best Switch Games

In recent years we have received a selection of so-called “cosy gaming” experiences, and this is what Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley can be boiled down to at it’s most basic elements. Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley starts right after winter, when Snufkin arrives to Moominvalley. Something has happened and now the valley is now filled with boring parks guarded by the police, each of whom get their orders from a mysterious park ranger. Construction sites that have popped up too have put the local animals on edge
Experience narrative gameplay and a myriad of charming stories and quests involving the beloved characters inspired by Tove Jansson’s work
The game begins when Snufkin—a nomadic human who visits Moominvalley every spring and summer—is bidding farewell to his best friend Moomintroll as he plans to leave for the winter. However, when Snufkin returns, he finds the valley has become quite peculiar, as all the animals seem to be leaving, and his friend Moomintroll is nowhere to be found. What’s worse, the punctilious Park Keeper has replaced several sections of the valley with parks and signs enforcing his rules—which Snufkin absolutely despises. Fragment’s Note+ Switch NSP

It’s up to Snufkin to figure out what happened during his absence and where Moomintroll has disappeared to, all while helping the various creatures and characters that reside within Moominvalley. It’s a lighthearted, innocent little fable that feels like a combination of various Moomin stories. that puts a love of nature and the importance of helping people front and center. What’s more, it really does have a lot of Ghibli vibes—it’s very calm, there’s no real “bad guy,”
Explore Moominvalley’s open world and solve musical and environmental puzzles along the way to uncover the happenings in the valley
Even characters that seem bad or monstrous are quite sweet if given a chance. However, if I have one complaint with the story, it’s that it doesn’t really do a good job of introducing you to the Moomin world. It all starts on an autumn day, and like every autumn it’s finally time for the Snusmumrikken to start walking again. He does this every winter, the Moomintroll knows that, but he is still sad, even though all the Moomintrolls go to the cave in the winter. Fragment’s Note+ After Story Switch NSP

A short montage follows, where, to the tunes of beautiful Sigur Rós music in classic Sigur Rós style, we follow Snusmumrikken as he wanders through the sour seasons, before suddenly it’s spring again. This is where our adventure begins, with the Snusmumrikken’s return to Moomin Valley. However, things have happened here since the last time. Someone has put up signs that prohibit everything from smoking with a pipe to noses and looking at things without permission.
Get the strict Park Keeper and his horrible parks out of Moominvalley with the help of your trusty harmonica, a bit of stealth, and the friends you’ll meet along the way
Very funny things, and it gets worse when the forest in several places has been replaced with parks full of scrubby trees, fences, and not least park guards. In the role of Snusmumrikken, it will be your job to not only find out what has happened in Moomin Valley since the last time, but also to put things in order. What follows is an enjoyable little adventure that may not last that long, but that lasts just long enough to make you wish it could last a little longer. That’s how good stories should be.

Because the story is nice, it is well written with a really good flair and ability to portray these characters in good Tove Jansson style. They don’t say much, only what they have to, but the words they use are carefully chosen to communicate just enough. It is bordering on perfect. The only thing missing is some shoe players to read these lines. Not that I have a problem with silent games, but this game would have been perfect for, for example, my daughter, but she hasn’t learned to read yet, and then it will be read aloud by dad.
