West of Loathing Switch NSP Free Download I’m not one who generally judges a book by the cover, but I’m only human. I make mistakes. Case in point, West of Loathing. I don’t know how many times I’d seen or heard about it, but time is at a premium for me these days. Sometimes a quick glance is all I can spare when deciding whether to play a game or skip it. To be fair, it’s easy to get the wrong impression based on screenshots West of Loathing uses literal stick figures for its characters, and every environment is made of simple line drawings.ROMSLAB.COM BEST SWITCH GAMES

In fact, it looks so sparse that it’s shocking. Little touches like a surprising diversity in animation and clever use of shadow can be noticed later on, but first impressions don’t even begin to tell the whole story. Thankfully, the Switch was the perfect opportunity to see what West of Loathing was about, and it only took me three minutes of hands-on time to fall in love.
Video games could use more comedies and well,
Comedy in video games is hard to pull off, even more so when it’s the most distinguishing factor about your game. West of Loathing boldly tries to stick the landing, as this jokey stick-figure RPG adventure takes you through oodles of non sequiturs on a quest to go west. Essentially, it’s Skyrim through the lens of a joke book. While some elements of the gameplay might be a little too simple and goofy, the farcical satire wins out and West of Loathing is a deliriously silly romp.Holy Potatoes! We’re In Space?! Switch NSP

A tutorial area sets the stakes well and lets you customize your created character, which can be one of three classes: Cow Puncher, Snake Oiler, or Beanslinger. Your hero then aims to go west to make their fortune. A bunch of nonsense follows as you go through a slew of side-scrolling locales to earn meat currency, fight bandits, and solve puzzles. The main quest goes slowly west, but much like its loose Elder Scrolls inspiration, the magic is in the side quests. To go into too much detail of the content of these bizarre sojurns would ruin the shock and awe. Quests take so many left turns that you’ll wind up right back where you started ready to go in another cubic rotation.
Graphics
In the age of near-realistic graphics, we’ve learned an important lesson: a game doesn’t need a beautiful artstyle to make a good game, it needs a fitting one. If your game is a heavy action game with themes of death and dread, a darker artstyle will fit. If you If you are trying to create a throwback platformer with classic elements inspire by games in the 80s, an 8-bit style works well. But what if your game is a cow tongue-in-cheek adventure game with satirical elements and incredibly silly situations? You bet your boots you can use stick figures as your aesthetic.Horace Switch NSP

West of Loathing, developed by the team behind 2003’s Kingdom of Loathing, is a western RPG where you play as a stick figure traveling west to find the cause of the dead being arisen. As you expect, it’s not anything groundbreaking in narrative sense, but hot damn, this is one of the funniest games I’ve played in months. To give everyone a good example of West of Loathing’s humor, there is a settings menu with various options such as nerd mode (turns on descriptions for turn-based battles), the ability to turn on gridmode to see the exact placement of enemies, and colorblind mode… in a black and white video game.
It’s not just all fast-travelling
It’s not just all fast-travelling, random encounters and collecting quests though, many of the missions have puzzles, and require a reasonable amount of grey matter, if not trial and error. Later in the game, you’ll be afflicted with a nasty virus, and you’ll probably be backtracking to a quest you overlooked (I know I did!) in order to remove the blight upon your senses. There’s also a technological subplot running behind the scenes too, if you can piece it all together then you’ll have done better than me doing my review play. Horizon Chase Turbo Switch NSP

West of Loathing has a decent upgrade system running in the background, and all the XP you earn from quests and fights can be spent on upgrading in a variety of skills. You can enhance your muscle (strength for melee attacks), moxie (for enhancing shooting) or mystical (magic and stuff) abilities or even other things like grit or even perks you’ve learned. Safe-cracking, lock-picking and foraging will benefit you along the way. If you found and read the books for these, of course.HORROR TALES: The Wine Switch NSP
